Trump Says Iran Deal Not Yet Final, Warns of Action if Terms Are Violated

Washington/G7 Summit: U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that the agreement reached with Iran has not yet been finalized, emphasizing that the United States is prepared to take firm action if Tehran fails to comply with the deal’s conditions.

Speaking during the G7 Summit alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Trump warned that the U.S. could resort to military action if Iran does not “behave properly” or honor its commitments under the proposed agreement.

Trump also rejected reports suggesting that Washington was willing to allow the creation of an investment fund for Iran in exchange for a final settlement. He clarified that the United States is not investing in Iran and dismissed such claims as inaccurate.

Earlier this week, Trump reiterated that under the proposed arrangement, “Iran will never have a nuclear weapon,” describing the issue as one of the central conditions of any future agreement between the two countries.

The remarks come ahead of a planned meeting between U.S. and Iranian representatives in Geneva on Friday, where both sides are expected to discuss and potentially sign the proposed accord. However, the full details of the agreement have not yet been made public.

According to reports, a preliminary understanding between the United States and Iran was reached on Sunday through mediation by Pakistan. The arrangement has been described as a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), though its specific provisions and obligations remain undisclosed.

Analysts say that if successfully implemented, the agreement could help reduce tensions in the Middle East and address long-standing international concerns over Iran’s nuclear program.
