PM Modi Receives Slovakia’s Highest Civilian Honour, Meets President Trump at G7 Summit

Bratislava/Evian: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded Slovakia’s prestigious state honour, the Order of the White Double Cross (First Class), during a ceremony in Bratislava.

Expressing gratitude to the people and government of Slovakia, Prime Minister Modi said the honour belongs to the 1.4 billion people of India. He dedicated the award to the enduring friendship and growing partnership between India and Slovakia.

“This honour belongs to the 140 crore people of India. I dedicate this award to the enduring friendship between India and Slovakia,” Modi said following the ceremony.

Meanwhile, during the G7 Summit in Evian-les-Bains, Prime Minister Modi met with U.S. President Donald Trump. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the summit and focused on issues of mutual interest and international significance.

Sharing the update on social media, Modi stated, “Met President Trump in Evian earlier today.”

Although details of the discussion were not immediately disclosed, the meeting is being viewed as an important engagement amid ongoing global economic and geopolitical developments.

The Slovak honour is one of the highest civilian awards conferred by the country and is regarded as a recognition of Modi’s contribution to strengthening international relations and enhancing cooperation between India and Slovakia. The award also reflects the growing diplomatic ties between the two nations.
